The 280/64 Chromonica 64 is an extended version of the 270/48 Super Chromonica, having an extra octave below middle C which, when played in the lower register, gives a more mellow tone. The comb on this chromatic is plastic and the mouthpiece holes are round, as opposed to the square holes and wooden comb on the 260/40 and 270/48 versions. The slide has a smooth action and the cover plates are of polished stainless steel.
The extra lower octave adds that extra playing dimension and range, as favoured by many players, including Stevie Wonder.
This harmonica, like all sixteen hole chromatic models, is available in the key of C only.
